Throughout this term you will be able to make use of the Bok Center’s Learning Lab help as you work on your final projects. Whether you are creating a podcast or an animated film, a 3D museum or an infographic, the Learning Lab will be there to help you with workshops and office hours over the course of the term.
In case you missed our 20 minute intro workshop, you can view it here. In this session we introduced the LL team and shared some demo projects we created using the Yokai you submitted using tools we’ll teach you in the follow-up workshops in March.

The various tools and media we demonstrate in these workshops will offer you with new ways to present your ideas, in many cases allowing you to accomplish things that would be difficult to do in an essay:
- 3D museums can organize objects in virtual space, creating relationships that might be difficult to articulate in words alone; the organization of the space itself can make and argument or tell a story
- in a video essay, you can offer us a montage of images that may give us far more examples of a repeated visual theme than you could reasonably present in an academic paper
- in a podcast, your voice will often achieve an intimacy or approachable informality that can be more effective at connecting to your audience, and you have tools at your disposal (pacing, sound effects, music beds) that can add additional layers of meaning
- in posters and infographics you can include text, just as you might in a paper, but you can also offer viewers quantitative data visualizations, maps, or flowcharts showing causal relationships
